Janet Hefner is an award winning artist and ceramist with 25 years of experience. She has studied art at the Toledo Museum of Art, the University of Toledo, and the University of Michigan. Janet moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1973 to set up her studio. The beauty of the southwest has inspired many prize winning works. Some of her many awards and recognitions include "Best of Show, 1976," "First 2024 Place for Carved Pots, 1979," and "First Place for Carved Pots, 1980" all awarded in the Southern Arizona Ceramic Association Show. In 1980 Janet was also named "Tucson Artist of the Year" for her unique sculptures and paintings. Sculpture pueblo pots and sand pueblo pots are among Janet's most recent works. These techniques allow the artist to blend painting, sculpture and ceramic arts. Each piece is individually created into an original work of art. Size of frame 8”x7” gold tone frame made by Nelson.
