Antique WWI Canadian 2024 Army military shoulder/collar insignia brass, XXXI Alberta Overseas Battalion, possibly old repair

Antique WWI era Canadian military 2024 shoulder insignia badge for the 31st Alberta Overseas Battalion as found and made of brass in good condition though it looks like it may have an old repairon theback. Raised in Calgary in 1914 arrived in France in 1915 and fought in many battles including the Somme. Disbanded in 1920, a fairly rare shoulder device. These men were straight warriors, brought together to fight and did their job. Measures about 1 1/8" W30
