Rare Vintage 2024 Midcentury, Home Sweet Home, Ceramic Birdhouse Bank, With 2 Bobble Spring Blue Birds, New Rubber Stopper, Made in Japan, 1950s

2024 This is a very sweet and quite rare midcentury ceramic Home Sweet Home, birdhouse bank, early- mid. 1950s. Originally had 3 birds, but the one on the front, on the wood knot, has broken off (see photo). You can put a small flower stem in the knot hole, or it would be fun and magical to find a small ceramic bird, a ceramic flower, or a ladybug (!) and glue it in place of the missing bird, or just leave as is! Most of these pieces still on the market today (70 yrs old) have lost their birds, so it is amazing that this one is still mostly in very good vintage condition. The two birds on the roof are original to the piece, one is a little wobbly on its spring, but still works fine with gentle adjustment. There is some light oxidation on the springs, but they are still strong. I have replaced the old cracked bank plug, with a brand new rubber stopper. The colors of the ceramic are still bright and unfaded, and there are no chips or cracks. This adorable yellow birdhouse with its bobble spring bluebirds is sure to bring smiles, it is so very happy, and fun. Perfect for heralding the Springtime! Great for bird or bank collectors!
