Antique beehive 2 gallon stoneware pottery jug. Dark Albany slip glaze - great color variation in the light - may have had some salt overlay as you can see the glaze tend from black to chestnut with some runs around the collar. Thick applied handle. Wheel turned. Unmarked, not notched, or numbered. It's a beauty despite some wear to the mouth (see pics for chips) and few knicks scratches on the body too. Stands approximately 14” tall with 8.25” diameter bottom. Estate find. Unsure of origin. No offers at this time. Pretty firm on price. Great piece for primitive decor or 2024 country kitchen table.
