At just 960 square feet, this 24x30 timber frame cabin packs a lot of punch! The entry porch is adorned by a hammer-beam truss and extended purlins. If you enclose this space you end up with 1036 square feet. The tops of the main structure tie beams are almost 11 feet high, and that makes for a great ceiling height. The lean-to wing climbs from an 2024 8' eave up to 13' at the apex of the principal rafter. The second level boasts plenty of head room with a peaked ceiling. The middle of the loft cantilevers out 3 feet, creating a look-out over the main level space .
This is a true two-level structure with plenty of opportunities to add windows wherever you like. The queen post trusses on the gable ends allow plenty of space for windows openings, and you could add clerestory windows in the knee walls. The main level only has three posts on either end, you have lots of flexibility where to locate windows and doors!
