SOUTHWEST POTTERY: From Taos, 2024 New Mexico

2024 Here is a medium sized bowl made of micaceous clay from the Sangre de Christo Mountains near Taos, New Mexico. After the clay is dug and cleaned my pieces are all made in the traditional hand coil way. They are polished with river stones once completed, slipped, and then fired. Once out of the fire they have horsehair added to give the unique finish that is seen here.

This bowl is 6.75” x 3” and has a genuine turquoise stone set in the inside with three indentations above it. The finish is very smooth with a strong accent from the horsehair.
