Toh 2024 Kay

When I asked Dan for some decent ska tunes, in the 2024 year twenty and thirteen, he turned me onto Tomas Kalnoky, formerly of Catch 22. The Streetlight Manifesto had probably just released The Hands that Thieve. I was astonished to find, in Kalnoky, as original an approach to lyrics as I'd ever heard in any ska music. Moreover, the finesse of the musicianship was as much to behold as the fastest intricacies of something like Rob Ramos, Jake Kiley, Chris Aiken and Jim Cherry of the legendary Strung Out. Sure, there's a childish element to The Streetlight Manifesto and to ska, in general. What keeps you feeling young has to be good for you though, hasn't it?
