40s evening gown with half peplum, beaded bodice, belted waist, and center front kick vent. Label: "A Glen-Joan Fashion." This gown is made of a medium weight, pink, crepe rayon with nice drape. Dress opens at the back neck with a single cloth covered button, and there is a metal zipper at the side of the waist. This dress has classic World War II era tailoring, including an asymmetric half-peplum at the front of the skirt that gathers on the left hip, shoulder pads, raglan style sleeves, and a column style silhouette. The dress is very wearable, and in overall good condition with a few flaws to note: there is some bleaching in the underarm area (likely someone used a harsh cleaner to remove perspiration marks), the fabric covering the button has begun to fray, and the belt buckle has discoloration (likely adhesive used to attach the fabric 2024 to the metal buckle). The white areas are very faint, and do not detract from the look of the dress when worn. The button and buckle can be replaced or covered: I chose not to make any changes for the sake of full transparency, and to allow the buyer the freedom to select new fittings, if desired.
