Product code: Rare WWI American Red Cross Hanging Garland or Festoon 80 Crosses Synder 2024 Co., PA

2024 This is a really great and I'm sure quite rare WWI-era American Red Cross hanging garland or festoon. Each red cross symbol is made of paper and is attached to a white band made of material. It is printed on the material "American Red Cross Snyder County Chapter." Snyder County is in Pennsylvania.

The red cross symbols are 5" x 5" and there are approximately 80 of them. Each red cross symbol is 6.25" apart so the entire length of the garland is approximately 75 ft. They are all attached together and about 60 of them are still stacked on top of each other and tied with a band of material. I only pulled out a few to take the photo.

Almost all of the red cross symbols are in great condition. I did notice one that had a small broken piece that was taped back on and only a couple that had a few small tears.

There is also a possibility that this isn't a display piece for hanging but was meant for each piece to be cut off and used as an arm band. I just find it odd that the white material band is printed across the entire thing and it would be impossible to read if it was hanging up high. That's just a guess. Regardless, I definitely know that this is an unusual item.
