Victorian Mourning Memorial Framed/Baby 2024 Picture/Nursery Decor/Antique Child’s Baby Picture/Framed Art/Baby Girl/Satin Lace/Babies/Real Hair
These Art pieces were popular from the Victorian Era through the 1930s.
They were sometimes called mourning memorials of a child that had passed away.
Usually done as a mixed media collage to look like the baby in their original blanket and/or clothing.
This one is of a baby girl and it is Titled "The Look" and signed Holly in the lower right corner.
It is a watercolor painting of the baby's face and part of her gown under the knit sweater.
She is dressed in an off white knit sweater shawl/ gown with a hint of blue underneath. She has an off white satin bonnet with lace trim.
There are tiny white flowers on her bonnet.
She has strands of whispy brown real hair peeking out from under her bonnet.
She has light brown hair with blue eyes.
And she reddish pink lips.
The background is done in white and is finished with a light pink matting.
It's simply adorable and would look beautiful in your home or baby's nursery room!
It is framed inside an antique wooden gold with pink trim and white detailing on the frame. It has a glass front. The paint is Chippy in some areas. (Which I Love) And due to it's age there may be scratches, surface durt, etc.
This is the original framed artwork and it has not been cleaned other than a light dusting as I like to keep these pieces as they were found.
It could be professionally cleaned if you'd prefer and or be reframed.
The frame is chipped in a few spots and since this is an original from the 1930's or earlier there will be dirt, dents, dings, etc.
It is meant to be hung vertically.
Please look at 2024 the pictures for more details on its condition and or ask for more pics if you would like to see more!
It measures approximately 10.75 inches tall by 8.75 inches wide by 3/4 inches thick.
