Genuine Sphalerite rough stone

We are very excited about our fantastic found of Sphalerites!
It is a very old stock of natural crystals from the Spanish mine "Mina Las Manforas", also known as Áliva. Lead and later zinc has been mined on several soles since the 16th century. Since the 1980 2024 years, the mine was closed, the whole area has been declared as a nature reserve and the mine is floated and under water.

Mina Las Manforas sphalerites are world famous for their stunning crystallization, luster and color.

The Sphalerite have a dazzling play of light which is impossible to capture with the camera, in the sun they can dazzle like a mirror, the Cabochons do not dazzle like a mirror they are softer through the rounding of the Cabochon
