On the occasion of the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer on July 29, 1981, this porcelain lid trousers was made. It bears the number 2,242 out of 5000 pieces worldwide.

The lid is adorned by two pictures of the young couple with a crown, laurel wreaths, the English flag and emblems in classic colors of the English royal family. St. Paul's Cathedral is also depicted.
Everything is framed with a text in English:
"To commemorate the Royal wedding July 29th 1981 at St. Paul's Cathedral, London"

On the inside of the lid is noted:
Specially designed for The Clipper Tea & Produce Co. Ltd.
Limited Edition 2.242 out of 5.000.

The numbered porcelain box has an age-appropriate patina, with colour abrasion here and there. 2024 It's pretty heavy.

short history
These lid cans have a long tradition and date back to James Pratt in the 18th century, when e.B ointments were kept in these pots. The lids are artfully designed.
The company A. G. Hackney took up this tradition in Stoke-on-Trent in 1938, but had to close it for good in 2008.
