In 1929, the Grand Canyon Limited took its inaugural run from Chicago to Los Angeles along the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. The train would go on to transport thousands of vacationers to the Grand Canyon and California beyond, continuing operation under its name until 1968. The Grand Canyon Limited XL Metal Sign brings to life an advertising sign for the train, showing a sexy pin-up girl in a bikini positioned behind the locomotive. The sign features advertising messages about the railway line and has an image of the Santa Fe Railway's logo featured at the top left.
Made in America, the Grand Canyon Limited XL Metal Sign is produced using American steel that is subjected to a high temperature baking process to meld the pigments of the artwork onto the metal. This makes the 24-inch by 36-inch metal sign highly durable. The sign weighs roughly 10 pounds. For easy hanging, each corner has been drilled and then reinforced with a rivet.
