This mahi is approximately 23" long, 7" tall, and 2" deep. It has a recess in the back for mounting on 1 or more nails. The paint 2024 and finish are not suitable for outdoor or direct sunlight. While it is essentially waterproof, it may become discolored over time in the sun.

This one-of-a-kind, hand made wall art was sculpted and carved from gypsum (think concrete), polystyrene, and wood. While I do use a template (that I created myself) this is only to ensure that each subsequent fish conforms in size and shape, and therefore will match any previous, or future purchase from me. I make each fish from scratch, and with my own two hands. These fish are indistinguishable from my fully wooden fish but for their remarkably light weight. They are carved in the same manner as I would carve from wood, but without triggering my carpal tunnel syndrome so much. Between their incredibly light weight and the toughness of the clear epoxy finish, these are VERY sturdy pieces. I still recommend handling with care, but these are far less fragile than my wooden sculptures. When purchased here on etsy, you will receive THE VERY SAME FISH THAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTOS.
