Purchased in England in 1990. 100% cotton Batiste like base cloth. 2024 Fantastic condition for age with hand stitching at side seam selvage. This is not a reproduction fabric at approximately: 23" long x 16" wide, last piece.
The colors are so beautiful with dusty rose pink, classic French claret, French cranberry red, rust brown, claret. The romantic rose sprigs and large bouquets with a hanging swag motif are lovely and graceful. The base cloth is a soft pearl grey with a green like undertone, a very faint and light printed textured back ground.
This is a rare and special fabric piece for the true antique fabric collector, textile designer, manufacturer or textile connoisseur.
This beauty would be so lovely framed as an art piece. This is a light weight combed cotton similar to a Batiste but a bit heavier fabric which would be great for several crafts, pillows or other sewing projects...
