Vintage Beswick Pitcher, Romeo and Juliet, Beswick Pottery England, Shakespeare, Porcelain 2024 Vase, c 1940s-1950s
Wonderful vintage Beswick pitcher featuring scenes from Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet. Made by Beswick Pottery of England likely in the 1940s-1950s timeframe, this porcelain pitcher or vase has a raised scene of the famous lovers embracing before a balcony (of course). The other side shows the back of a woman wearing a bonnet. The pitcher's foot is marked "Romeo & Juliet" and "Farewell."
CONDITION: VERY GOOD
(Poor-->Fair-->Good-->Very Good-->Excellent-->Mint):
Interior is stained and stains did not come out with a gentle cleaning. Crazing visible on bottom and interior but not exterior. No chips or cracks.
MARKINGS: "Beswick England" in a circle - according to Kovel's, this dates it at 1946 or later. There is also a number - perhaps 1214 - stamped on the bottom.
MEASUREMENTS: 8" tall, 7" wide from spout to handle and 4" in diameter across the top

Mint - As new. No visible flaws or wear. All parts/pieces intact.
Excellent - Has been used and/or may have very minor noticeable flaws that do not detract from the use or aesthetics of the item. All parts/pieces intact.
Very Good - Light wear and/or noticeable flaws that may warrant optional repairs, but can still be used as intended. May be missing parts/pieces, but doesn't impact use.
Good - Visible wear with flaws that may warrant repairs before being used as intended. May be missing parts/pieces, but 2024 doesn't impact use.
Fair - Numerous flaws and/or especially fragile. Likely needs to be repaired before being used as intended. May be missing parts/pieces that impact use.
Poor - Extensive damage. Cannot be used as intended without repair. To be used for parts, repair, display or as photo props only. Missing parts/pieces that impact use.
