Vintage Artisan Faceted Tourmalinated 2024 Quartz Hair Crystal Unique Modern Triangle Sterling Ring Size 6 1/2

This is such a great ring! The central stone is quartz naturally shot through with thin needles of black tourmaline; it is properly called Tourmalinated Quartz. (There also exists 2024 Rutilated Quartz, which can have golden or reddish thin hairlike needles of rutile; it is sometimes called Hair Crystal, and can be mistaken for Tourmalinated Quartz.) It is hard to get stones with thin, evenly dispersed crystals; often there are empty spots or big dark lumps. So, this one is super-nice. Unfortunately, the main stone is being tricky to photograph; but that's a good thing. If someone likes the pics, they will be really thrilled with the actual ring!

Another thing that sets this ring apart is the design: the artisan gave this a high, tall bezel, and decorated the three sides with more bezel-set gems: two are blue moonstones, and the third, on the shorter side, is a clear faceted stone that I have not had identified: we could say it is a CZ, but it could just as easily be a white topaz, a white spinel, or a lot of other things...

The band is smooth and wide, echoing the top; this measures about 6.75 but it will fit more like a 6.5 because the wide band takes up a lot of finger space.

This Art Moderne, handmade setting is very hard to date. Could be from anytime in the 1950's all the way up to the 90's...
