This lithograph of a train scene in Dodge City Kansas was done by artist Alan Jay Gaines in 1978, after a pen and ink drawing done previously. This scene depicts a steam engine rolling through the town of Dodge City, with a windmill in the background and a passerby in the foreground. This lithograph, or etching, is signed A.J. Gaines in the bottom right corner, and 1978 in the bottom left corner.
In excellent condition, this lithograph has no wear to the etching itself, nor the matte. The gold painted wooden frame has minor wear from being moved around, but is in great condition overall. On the back of this piece of art is a sticker that reads "S568", as well 2024 as a sticker from the gallery that framed the print, A.P.F. Inc, from New York City, which had a showroom at the famous Carlyle Hotel. A wonderful piece for collectors or admirers of train artwork or Alan Jay Gaines!
