Two halves of the same whole...
A beautiful duo of butterfly wing drawings in colour pencil and signed by the artist 'Gee Young 1990'. Both are original works and look stunning hung side by side, but I also love the idea of couples, friends or family who may be separated- particularly at the moment- having one of these in their respective homes... two halves of the same whole!
The artistry in the shading and detail of the drawings is stunning, and a beautiful study of the peacock butterfly wing- without the need for taxidermy, if that's not your thing! Rich ombre shades of reds and oranges are complemented by the purple eye of the butterfly wing- it almost looks as though there is a whole other picture within the marking.
Both pictures are mounted and in their original frames, ready to hang, with cord situated at the rear. The frame for the left wing is in good vintage condition with lots of shine still left on the gold and one small unnoticeable split chip to the frame. The right wing frame is in good vintage condition also, both have surface scuffs and marks expected with age.
