The Luna Moth has one purpose in life - to mate and then die. The do not have mouths to drink water or eat once they reach adulthood after emerging from their cocoon. There are 2024 places where they can be found in literal piles after dying.
A friend of mine sent me some wings she found so that I could photograph them. Each wing as you know is large, but they have a tiny spot on them that looks like an eye.
