Original watercolor painting of icy stream & birches -- waxed, varnished 2024 and mounted on unfinished cradled wood. Mother's Day Sale!
Title: Chill. An original watercolor painting of chilly winter scene with stream and white birches on 1.5" deep cradled wood panel. Waxed, varnished and ready to hang. No glass or frame needed.
Treatment details: Watercolor painting is treated first with fixative, then two layers of wax, followed by varnish, and UV Resistant spray. The treatment provides a strong finish, resistant to stains and UV fading. It allows it to be displayed with no glass or acrylic covering causing glare. It can be dusted or wiped with a damp cloth if needed.
The boards are treated with GAC100 to prevent wood from discoloring the paper. A heavy acrylic gel is used to mount the paper. It provides protection too as well as gluing properties.
Wire is attached to back for hanging. Piece of “nanotape” –double-sided tape that is supposed to provide strong attachment and leave no residue. (I've tried it for only a few weeks, so far it works)
