The tornado is made of 100% cedar. Each layer of cedar is glued with premium wood glue as well as nailed together. The inner housing forms a layered V shape and is scored on the inside to assist with footing. There are ventilation holes in the bottom and back of the housing. The entire display stands 10 1/2 inches tall with a base of 9 1/2 X 10 1/2 inches. The top of the birdhouse can be accessed by removing two "debris" pins and lifting off the lid. The lightning bolt on top acts as a handle to remove the top.
The tornado is decorated with assorted debris (car tire, snapped light pole, corn stalks, etc) which have each been nailed to the housing. The storm chaser truck is glued to the base as well as nailed from the underside. This one may be better suited in a covered environment so the diorama corn stalks will weather better.
Extra care is taken with packing/shipping, often box in box, this will reflect in the shipping costs.
