A circa 1881 handpainted Haviland cabinet plate marked on underside " Market Boat on the Soheldt by Clarkson Stanfield, R.A., painted by WMR, 1881". The H&C plate depicts a market boat to the forefront with sailing vessels in the background under a cloudy sky. Light wear appropriate for age. 12.25"x1.25"x12.25". Clarkson Frederick Stanfield RA was a prominent English marine painter( 1793-1867) and the plate is a beautiful rendition of 2024 the original work.
