Vintage 3.8 x 6 Feet Blue Washable Dhurrie Rug Striped Rag Rug Sofa Throw Wall Hanging Tapestry Picnic Mat Floor Rug Area 2024 Rug Heavy

This heavy dhurrie rug comes from a small rural shop that closed down in 1997. There were lots of rugs sitting nicely rolled and covered with jute covers. The shop had a bunch of handlooms where village weavers repurposed clothing remnants into these soft dhurrie rugs. These rugs are machine/home washable 2024. They were used to cover concrete, stone and dirt floors in villages. Being reversible effectively doubled their life. Made of primarily cotton and rayon materials. When I saw the collection of dhurrie rugs from this shop the thought that crossed my mind is that this beautiful work of art does not only epitomize recycle, repurpose and reuse but is environmentally friendly to boot (clean only when both sides are dirty). My kids love the myriad of colors and claim "spongy" construction is cool.

Material = mainly cotton and rayon...rayon is a material made from wood cellulose and is similar to cotton.
Care = vacuum and flip sides regularly. Cold water handwash with mild detergent. Hang dry. Shape when damp (if needed).
Size = 45"x 72" inch. Both short ends have 2 inch long, multicolored, poly-wool tassels.
Weight = ~8 lbs
Use = area rug, entryway rug, picnic rug, office rug, sofa throw, child's room rug.
Condition = excellent condition. Never used but please allow for minor imperfections due to vintage, handcrafted nature of the item. Loose threads,
