I found this mid-Century rhinestone in a Pennsylvania antique store - it was a clip earring. Even in that dim lighting, this gorgeous gem just sparkled. Of course, it spoke to me and I had to take it home. I love blue and this blue stone has such depth, such clarity, you 2024 just want to dive into it. It is flawless - set in a gold plated vintage mid-Century casing. I repurposed it into a long necklace. Very minimalist because the rhinestone, itself, should take all the attention. I strung tiny goldish Czech glass seed beads - interspersed with gold filled bars and 4 mm blue Swarovski crystals (of course the blue crystals match the rhinestone) - onto nylon covered stainless steel beading wire. In keeping with it's vintage look, I used a blue glass vintage button as a toggle clasp. All findings are gold filled. Necklace measures about 30" with rhinestone measure 3/4" in diameter.
