Vintage Hand Fan, Victorian Mourning Folding Fan, 2024 Black Handle, Fish Line Sewn, Canadian Inuvik Inuit Custom Made

This was a custom made hand fan or folding fan from a Inuvik / Inuit village in Canada. The woman I purchased it from told me, while in Canada visiting family, she asked a local native artist to make her a mourning fan authentic looking to the victorian era. She said the guy thought she was crazy but figured "why not". All of the fan, with the exception of the black plastic frame and fish line is made from an animal specific to the Yukon 2024 Coastal Area.

CONDITION:
The black accent is flaking off but otherwise it's in really good condition.
