These basket twist handle fireplace tools are hand forged and made to order. The basket twist handles are made from 1/4” steel and then forge welded to a 3/8” shaft. The shovel end is made from 1/8” steel plate. The shovel in these pictures actually started off as a fire poker for another customer but was a failure - rather than cut it up I made it into the shovel as a birthday present for a family member. If bought as a set the handles and twists in the middle will match much better than what's seen here. The fire poker is a very useful tool and the shovel has a very slight pitch to it to keep your hand off of whatever is around your fireplace. A brass brush is applied to the handles at a low heat to give them the golden color but this can be left black upon request. After forging a paste wax finish is also applied at a low heat to prevent rusting and enhance the colors a bit. The price for the set is at a slight discount if you were to buy them separately.
As seen in the pictures, custom lettering/numbering is available at no extra charge if 2024 the request is less than 12 characters. If you are interested in more than 12 characters just message me before buying and we can come to a fair agreement.
