FANG Ngil helmet mask from Gabon

The Fang are mainly found in Gabon, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, but also in the Republic of Congo and on the island of Sao Tome. The Ngil was a secret society responsible for keeping order within the villages. Traditionally, these Fang masks covered with kaolin, were used to restore the truth and chase away troublemakers.
