FAUX SWEETS is a professional fake food and dessert decorator 2024 located in Los Angeles specializing in creating beautiful hand-made food, home and event décor. FAUX SWEETS was founded by Mae, a former banker now baker. She started this business as a cupcake shop on Etsy in 2017. The inspirations come from Japanese fake food culture and memories of pâtisserie shops in France where desserts decorated the displays like enchanted jewels too beautiful to be eaten. Having a "craft thumb" she started experimenting and researching the art of food mimicry. Faux Sweets offers "Faux" Cupcakes that can be used as note-holders, ornaments and props.
