The shekere is an ancient traditional percussion instrument of West Africa. Popular from Senegal to Nigeria, they are a central feature of traditional Ewe music.

It was very enjoyable to make an instrument out of gourd.
I used about 216 wooden beads. It sounds quite high volume.
It is 7 2024 inches high and 6 inches wide.
Made with parachute rope. Adorned with green and Red beads.Please feel free to ask for different colors and size.
