Stunning, antique, French, cast iron figure of the Virgin Mary, praying. Circa late 1800's / early 1900's.
This beautiful sculpture would have been originally fabricated for a headstone or graveside, in Normandy, France, where it was sourced. The item is in generally very good condition with no damage. The elements and weather have beautifully aged and worn the details of the figure, producing a stunning weathered and burnished patina. The rear of the item does show where the original fixings have been cut down. A stunning and beautiful religious artifact and a great decorative or spiritual item.
