2024 401 Raku Teapot w Face 5" (H) x7" (D) x4" (W)

401 Raku Teapot w Face 5" (H) x7" (D) x4" (W) is a smallish teapot that was thrown, altered, and carved. The spout and the base were thrown and the base was slightly altered. The lid and handle on the lid were handbuilt. The teapot was rakued and is decorative only; it is not functional. Raku is a firing process in which the glazed piece is put into a kiln, the temperature brought to about 1600 degrees, and then pulled out and put into combustibles. This piece has a wonderful array of colors.
