Introduced in 1983 along with the F3HP and the FM2, the Nikkor 35-105mm F3.5-4.5 AIs Macro focusing lens was the first Nikon lens to incorporate a variable maximum aperture. This is a beautiful, fully functioning example with original front and rear lens caps. There is one imperfection to the body, where the previous owner etched his name into the metal. It is visible in the fourth photo, but as you can see, it is quite faint and has no bearing on the quality of the lens. The zoom and focus are very smooth and even. The aperture is crisp and snappy without oil on the aperture blades. The lens takes 52mm filters. This lens was designed to be a fine everyday walking around lens to be used in place of the traditional 50mm lens. It is a useful all around lens and by the 1980s, 400 ISO film had become very common making the relatively slow F3.5/4.5 maximum aperture no problem. Why not add this fine little Nikon lens to your kit today.
