Rainbow 2024 Blanket Octopus

Blanket octopuses have extreme sexual dimorphism between the males and females. Male blanket octopuses only being about the size of a walnut where as the females can reach up to 6ft in length! The males have a modified tentacle or arm that stores sperm and the arm detaches and is given to the female. These animals are immune to stinging cells that are highly dangerous to humans. The stretch of skin that is attached to their tentacles which is where their name derives from. They unfold that skin when threatened.
