Batik Cotton Sarong Fabric Handmade Indonesian Batik Kain 2024 Tulis from Tuban Indonesia Batik Hand Drawn

A beautiful, old, hand made Batik from Tuban in East Java. Tulis is the Indonesian word used to describe a 2024 batik that is totally handmade by "kanting" (pouring) the wax onto the material. It is not made by stamp or by mechanically printing onto the material. This is the traditional and most labour intensive way of making a batik.

This batik has a cream background with a traditional pattern in dark blue, black and brown. All natural dyes. It is in very good condition on soft cotton.

A Kain is a piece of material about 2 or a bit more metres in length. This one is an unusually long batik, 104cm high by 240cm long.
