Antique BRONZE clad over chalk President Abraham Lincoln BOOKENDS
Bronze-clad, a manufacturing technique whereby a skin of bronze was deposited on a plaster from through the process of electro-plating. A handful of companies used this method in the early 1900s to make decorative household 2024 objects that had the look, feel and heft of solid bronze yet still were affordable by the middle class.
One of the filled [ weighted ] copper bronze bookends has a mold stress crack in Lincolns lap [ hard to see unless looking down at lap ] Other than that, Amazing to find , good vintage condition !!!!
