2024 This original watercolor painting features a grouping of white Calla Lilies and was executed by American Watercolor Society and Ohio Watercolor Society member Kay K. Worz. Worz has a distinctive calligraphic style and states "I prefer to depict the rhythmic design I see in nature - birds, animals and florals, all inspire me."
A popular choice for wedding bouquets, Calla Lillies signify magnificence and beauty. The flowers in this painting have been realistically depicted and have long green stems topped by creamy white blossoms with yellow stamen. The lilies have been delicately arranged and have a pleasing symmetry. The artwork comes with a peach colored mat which complements the green, yellow and white shades found in the flowers.
According to information about the artist sourced online, "Chicago born, Kay, has a B.A from Xavier University and completed Post-Grad work in Europe, in Drawing and Painting. She is a Signature member of Cincinnati Art Club and served as President from 2008-2010. She currently serves on the Cincinnati Art Museums Duveneck Association Board. She is a designer, painter and Enamelist."
The artwork is in excellent original condition with no damage. The visible portion of the painting is 11.75" by 5.5" while the dimensions of the mat are 14.125" by 8.125". The artist signature appears next to the stem of the flower on the far right and is best seen in photo 5.
This striking original painting displays beautifully and would be a great addition to a collection of watercolors or works equally well showcased on its own. An elegant vintage find!
