This cutting board consists of walnut "tiles" with maple "grout", and is truly one-of-a-kind. It measures almost 10-1/2" by 15", and sits on 4 rubber feet; this board will 2024 not slide on your countertop or table. Both the walnut and maple are end-grain, making the board easier on your knives. Of course, this board is also excellent as a charcuterie platter, or to hold a picture frame or family heirloom.
Care is simple: hand-wash and -dry. Try not to let it airdry in the dishrack, and please, oh please, do not put it in the dishwasher. The prolonged heat and moisture are not good to these fine woods. Every now and then (2-6 months), rub the board, front and back, with a food-grade mineral oil, following the instructions on the bottle. These oils can be found in any home improvement center or most hardware stores.
