Circa 1930's to early '40s
Made in Mexico, between the 1920s-1940s (based on the Mexico Silver mark on the reverse) this brooch is alive with movement as it depicts a bird (or goose) in mid-flight. In fact, it looks like it's about to land.
This large brooch is very 3-dimensional. At 3 and 1/2" x 3 and 1/4" it is humungous!! It has a wonderful warm patina that only old silver produces. We will leave it just as found as you may love it this way as well. It looks exactly as it does in the photos - no badly tarnished areas - just enough to enhance the 3-dimensional quality.
As an aside, the silver content of this period often exceeded the minimum standard of 925 parts out of 1000 (sterling).
