The gold layer here is about 100 times thicker than with the usual gilding in Germany. 'Gold-filled' jewelry is as durable and robust 2024 as pure gold jewelry, but much cheaper. Since everything that is visible and tangible is made of gold, it is no different visually from a piece of jewellery, of pure gold. Gold filled jewelry is waterproof!
