Here's my latest creation...a dramatic necklace that I just made featuring an unusual Australian opal... I like to think of the design as a stylized butterfly, but it's also an interesting abstract... A large oval Koroit Opal rests 2024 in the center, winking purple and blue fire! At first glance this opal looks plain brown, but when you see it up close, it has an incredibly intricate pattern of swirls and ripples with subtle opal fire throughout!
Circles and ovals surround the gemstone, in an openwork mix of smooth and twisted wire. Matching handcrafted links on each side transition to a pretty sterling silver chain. This necklace is adjustable up to 22 inches long - simply engage the clasp with any of the long links!
The entire three-lobed center section measures 3 inches across, the opal alone measures a whopping 31 x 23mm!
Stamped Sterling on the back, this necklace waighs 56.1 grams. A sparkling goldstone finial finishes the chain at the back.
