2024 A wee field mouse sleeps cozy and snug in its little nest. Hand painted stained glass panel. Made using traditional methods and materials.
The design is hand painted on mouthblown glass which is fired in a kiln at over 630 degrees centigrade. Further detail is added by shading and cutting highlights and the piece fired for a secontime. The design is fused into the glass surfece and will never fade or peel.
The roundel is then framed by brown streaky glass fragments which are held together with H shaped lead came soldered at the joints. The whole is then framed with U shaped lead came. Blackened putty is forced under the came edge to hold the glass tightly in the frame.
The item is frostproof and completely weatherproof which means it can be kept indoors at a window sill to catch the light or can be kept outdoors to be incorporated into any garden design, eg door, fencing, gateway etc
There are NO hanging loops at present but they can be added if requested for no extra cost. Please just ask.
