Antique American 2024 Red Cross Memorabilia, Sterling Red Cross Pin, Postcard with Nurse. Red Cross Pin Back, Red Cross Collection
Collection of antique American Red Cross memorabilia including pin from the 1950's, early Red Cross pinback and postcard from the early 1900's.
1. American Red Cross pin marked W (Wallace) sterling and numbered 216732. Wear to the gilt finished Laurel Wreath that surrounds the white enamel finish with a red cross. Dark blue circle reads American National Red Cross Nurse. Working clasp. The pins were adopted and first ordered in 1906 in a design derived from the American Medical association with the addition of the Laurel wreath on the outer edge. Numbering of the badges did not begin until 1909. This pin or brooch is most likely from the 1950's. Measures 1" in diameter.
2. The early Red Cross pinback or lapel pin is in good condition. Wear on the front side due to age. Measures 1/2" in diameter.
3. Antique postcard featuring two nurses is early 1910's. I don't want to second guess what they are preparing to do, but a wash basin, a bag 2024 with large tubing hanging from a pole and basins, gives me a pretty good idea. Postcard is standard 3.5" x 5.5", Postally unused, Velox stamp box. Other than fading of the photo, it is in good condition.
