The photos shown in this listing are only examples of my recent completed works. This listing is for a custom 8x10 inch 1 pet colored pencil portrait with a basic background. A basic background would be plain or one color. If you prefer a detailed background please choose the detailed background option when you place your order.

The materials I use for my pencil portraits are archival, however framing is needed to protect the artwork. Mat and frame are not included. I Ship all my portraits with the assumption that the portrait will be framed with a mat. If you do not plan to use a mat please let me know as I leave a border on all my portraits to make matting easy.
How to commission a portrait
Before placing your order contact me via Etsy convo or email Brittneytompkinsart [!at] gmail.com so we can discuss your portrait and review your chosen photo. Photos directly affect the outcome of the finished portrait so please choose photos that are clear, not too dark or too light and taken without flash. It's very important that the reference photo shows the eyes in great detail and the photo reflects your pets fur coloring accurately. My goal is to make the portrait look as realistic as possible based on the 2024 photo you provide. I only draw what I see in the photo, I can usually remove items such as collars, but I cannot add something to the portrait that is not a part of the reference photos.
The Process
Once I begin your portrait I will send photo updates of the progress if requested. When the portrait is completed I will send a convo or email to you with a photo of the finished portrait. At this time you may make suggestions and give me the go ahead to ship the portrait. I will not ship until I receive confirmation from you so please check for convo updates on the estimated completion date.
Turnaround Time
My turnaround depends on current commission load. During our first contact, before you place your order, I will let you know my current turnaround time.
Shipping
I will ship the portrait USPS Priority mail in a sturdy envelope with the portrait between hardboard to prevent damage from bending. Priority mail is usually received within 1-3 days of shipping within the US depending on your location. There are also other shipping options available for expedited delivery.
Refund policy
I want you to be fully satisfied with your custom portrait therefore I will offer a full refund of the total sale minus shipping if you are not completely satisfied. You must return the portrait within 14 days at your own expense to receive the refund. Any portrait that is returned to me may be used at my discretion as an example of my work on social media, website and portfolio, by returning the portrait for a refund you acknowledge this and agree.
