Historically an Anishinaabe garment, the Ribbon Skirt has become a contemporary symbol in many Native American communities. A Ribbon Skirt identifies you to your people and Creator. It tells a story of tradition, adaptation, and survival. Ribbon Skirts can be seen at any special event, Powwows, even in the U.S. Congress. However, Ribbon Skirts aren't just for special ceremonies anymore, they're often a part of an indigenous individual's daily wardrobe. Ribbon Skirts come in many colors and styles.

Even if you are not of Native American descent, wearing a Ribbon Skirt shows that you are an ally to indigenous cultures, women, and political issues. Furthermore, by purchasing a skirt from me, you are supporting a Native American (Anishinaabe) crafter that is in full compliance with the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 (P.L. 101-644). This Ribbon Skirt is 100% Cotton, pre-washed in fragrance-free detergent and dried using fragrance-free dryer sheets. Ribbon is 100% polyester. Elastic non-roll waistband. Side seams are serged so this skirt will last for many seasons. My home is smoke-free, and my workspace is pet-free. I do not smudge my items in case you have allergies, and out of respect for your individual custom.
