Product code: Burgundy Leather Bifold Minimalist Wallet, #5, 2024 Handmade Hand sewn genuine Leather Wallet, Bifold, Gift for him

This minimalist bifold is a simple genuine leather wallet which can hold a couple cards (up to 4) and some cash. This wallet has two card slots on the inside sides and a cash pocket.

This item is all handmade by me and made in the USA. My pricing does not include the material - I take the amount of time it takes and multiply that by an hourly rate to get my price. My price does include free shipping. I love making leather goods, bags and purses and have a deep satiation knowing someone will enjoy my items as much as I loved making it.

The acrylic pattern for this bifold is from Maker's Leather Supply.

The leather used is 4 oz (5/64”) Wickett & Craig Burgundy English Bridle Leather for the outside and 2 oz for the inside pockets. This leather has a beautiful back side.

This wallet has been hand stitched using a black Ritza Tiger thread ( .6mm in thickness at 9 stitches per inch) - a 100% braided polyester thread.

I use a saddle stitch when hand sewing leather products. There is a significant difference between a saddle stitch 2024 and a stitch done by a sewing machine. To do a saddle stitch properly takes time and expertise. This results in a beautiful more durable stitch. If a sewing machine stitch breaks the entire line of stitching is compromised. If the thread rips on a saddle stitch then only that area is compromised.

This leather item has beveled and burnished edges. A specific edge beveler (depending on the leather thickness), which has a sharp metal blade, is used to remove the square corners from the edges of the leather. This leaves a nice neat, rounded edge. After the edges are beveled, I burnish the edges, which seals and smooths the raw beveled edge. This is a two-step process, first using water (then dying the edges) and then a burnishing liquid which seals the edges so no moisture can penetrate the edges and it will last a very long time. This also take time but results is a beautiful long lasting edge.
