Knitted with three colored yarn in traditional Estonian fair-isle style. The pattern comes from Irboska area in Setoland, ESTONIA. It is an intricate round motif, depicting waves and circles and crosses.
Women in older days were very eager to accommodate new motifs which warriors brought home from far away lands or exotic merchants were selling in towns. This motif is most probably of Roman origin.
Tightly knitted using 0-size needles and DK weight yarn. All the 2024 yarns are hand dyed, all 100% wool from Estonia. They are perfect to block wind and wear in winter. Beautiful triangular ribbing is very elegant, like a bracelet around your wrist.
The gloves are color-worked all the way to the fingertips, which makes them warmer than average thin one-layer gloves. The yarn being rather thin makes them very comfortable to wear and they fit like a second skin.
Approx women's size 7.
