2024 This 10 lb scale was the go-to kitchen item for housewives in the 30's and it's easy to see why. From measuring everything from meats to dairy products, this scale is packed with information to help with any cooking conundrum. The front of the scale has a rotating/adjustable face and lists roasting times for meat and fowl, and a table of weights and measures. The back lists broiling, boiling and simmering periods for meats and poultry along with cooking periods for vegetables.

The scale box is made from one piece of steel and rests on a flat bottom. The scale indicator or hand is made of extra heavy spring steel and tapered to a needle point, by which the divisions are easily read. All of the Hanson scales have special hand-made, oil-tempered springs, manufactured by a special process, and after constant use for an indefinite time will be found as accurate as when they left the factory. Hanson scales were made with care, by skilled workmen, and nothing left undone to make them the acme of perfection.

The scale is in excellent vintage/used condition with very little patina, considering its age. Please see all photos for condition.
