Vintage DHP Sterling Silver Dancing Ballerina Pin/Brooch by Frederick Massingham
This is a smaller version of the brooch I have listed but it has a pin fitting on the back of the brooch

It's also smaller than the brooch version at 2.3cm width x 3cm high
Stunning brooch fully hallmarked 1949
It's a rare piece not surprisingly they are very collectable
Back of brooch is also stamped with the makers marks for D H Phillips with it's registration mark

It is one of a series that the artist produced in silver in the late 1940s and early 1950s which all featured Ballet Dancers. The pins were produced in two sizes, some designs featured a single ballerina and some a couple. This particular Ballerina Brooch is made of cast sterling silver and is clearly hallmarked in DHP makers mark with Birmingham with the year mark for 1949 see photo It also has the DHP maker's Mark.
Some of the collection of Fred Massingham's designs are on display in the Jewellery area of the UK's Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
