Aesthetic Movement Covered Vegetable Bowl or Soup Tureen, Lidded Brown and 2024 White 19th Century English Transferware Dish, Henry Alcock Exeter

2024 This is a lovely Aesthetic Movement lidded vegetable bowl or soup tureen from the 1870 to 1890 period. This is English, well marked "Henry Alcock & Co." semi-porcelain, and I think the pattern is called "Exeter". The lid and bottom match nicely, and have brown transferware on white ironstone. The organic and natural pattern and the versatile color are appealing, and the condition of the covered bowl is generally good. There are no cracks, no hairlines, no chips, no repairs, no fleabites, and the handles are all securely attached without repairs or problems. The soup tureen or covered vegetable server measures about 11 3/4" long by 8 5/8" wide by 6" high, and the inside of the bowl offers an opening roughly 7 1/2" by 7". The bowl and lid together weigh over 3 1/2 pounds. In good condition.
